After Sir Andy Murray and before Jack Draper there was this chap who reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon. It was only three years ago and it would thus be easy to call Cameron Norrie “the forgotten man of British tennis”.

Frances Tiafoe is the latest seed to exit Wimbledon, after British No. 2 Cameron Norrie came from a set down to record a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 7-5 victory.

The Briton, who reached the Wimbledon semifinal in 2022, came to The Championships this year ranked at No. 61 in the world and probably past his prime. But on Wednesday, he turned back the clock and upset 12th-seeded Tiafoe 4-6 6-4 6-3 7-5 to reach the third round.
