A whale has died after being struck by a boat Saturday afternoon along the Barnegat Bay in Ocean County, New Jersey.Officials with the Marine Mammal Stranding Center said they received a call from the New Jersey State Police Marine Unit after they spotted a whale in the Barnegat Bay,

BARNEGAT BAY – A 20-foot mink whale died Saturday, Aug. 2 in the bay after being struck by a boat, which nearly capsized and forced a passenger overboard, according to officials.

On Monday morning officials will tow the whale from Barnegat Bay to a New Jersey state park where they will perform a necropsy to determine the cause of death.
