As the first phase of the temporary ceasefire in Gaza ends, the Israeli government said Saturday night it had agreed to a proposal by Trump envoy Steve Witkoff to extend it.

The ceasefire’s first phase saw a surge in humanitarian aid after months of growing hunger.
