Extreme heat warnings are in effect in Hampton Roads, prompting cities to open cooling centers across the region.

The city was wrapped in a thick, sticky blanket of Hotlanta heat on Monday. In DeKalb County, Frontline Response opened a temporary cooling shelter to help the unhoused escape the extreme temperatures.

With extreme heat remaining in place across the Pittsburgh region through at least Wednesday, several cooling centers have opened to give residents a place to escape the dangerous temperatures.
