Avelo to shift focus eastward, exiting Salem market and reducing Burbank operations
SALEM, Ore. (KATU) — Avelo Airlines announced it will close its base at Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) by the end of 2025. The airline plans to reduce its operations to one aircraft on August 12, before fully exiting the base on December 2, 2025.
Avelo to stop offering flights out of Salem Airport later this summer
The arrival of Avelo to Salem in October 2023 heralded the return of commercial routes at the airport after a nearly 15-year absence, and remained the only commercial airline serving the Salem-Willamette Valley Airport. It provided flights to Burbank and Las Vegas.
