One man was taken into custody and airlifted to the hospital after a SWAT standoff in Union Thursday afternoon.

Middletown Police Chief Earl Nelson took office in August 2024 in the wake of a violent summer in the city. He said Thursday he's worked since then to put officers on the street and prevent crime.
