Presidents, prime ministers and cardinals gathered alongside members of the public in Rome for the funeral of Pope Francis.

The prince travelled to the Vatican for the historic farewell to Pope Francis and stood in front of the pontiff’s coffin in solemn silence.

Sir Keir Starmer, the Prince of Wales and Donald Trump were also present for the funeral mass in St Peter’s Square.
