Sidney Crosby took part in another dueling hat tricks game with a Russian opponent 16 years after his memorable one in the playoffs against Alex Ovechkin. Crosby finished off his hat trick with an empty-netter to seal the Pittsburgh Penguins’ 5-3 victory at the Dallas Stars on Saturday after Evgenii Dadonov also scored three goals.

The Stars couldn’t have asked for a better time for Evgenii Dadonov to snap his 17-game goal drought. The 36-year-old Russian forward is amid his most successful season in four years, but hit a slump down the stretch.

Robert Thomas scored a power-play goal in overtime and the St. Louis Blues tied a franchise record with their 11th consecutive win, 5-4 over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
