Lara Trump is no longer her father-in-law’s choice to run for Senate in North Carolina. The former co-chair of the Republican National Committee dropped the surprise announcement Thursday morning in a statement on X.

It looks like Lara Trump’s political career is over before it started. But at least she has a plethora of other passions to fall back on, like music, broadcasting and fashion design. Come to think of it, it’s a blessing she bowed out of a race she would ultimately lose. The world cannot be deprived of her artistic talents!

Tillis had clashed with the president over the One Big Beautiful Bill and subsequently said he would not run again in the 2026 elections. It opened an opportunity for Lara Trump, a former RNC chair, who has ambitions in national politics.
