Nashville Predators' Juuse Saros allowed 6 goals vs USA on Thursday. Now it looks like his playing time for Finland at the 4 Nations Face-Off is over.

In both six-on-five situations, the Finns rolled all forwards: Granlund, Hintz, Aleksander Barkov, Mikko Rantanen, Sebastian Aho and Patrik Laine. Finland’s blue line was its weakness. Its grinding and relentless forwards pulled them back within a goal.

The Nashville Predators signed Juuse Saros to an eight-year contract extension in NHL Free Agency. This move was a massive decision that had a legitimate trickle-down effect, as well. Nashville also had top goalie prospect Yaroslav Askarov at the time. The Saros signing led to Askarov requesting trade from the Predators, which he was granted.

Finland is making a change in net for its second game of the 4 Nations Face-Off. Coach Antti Pennanen said Kevin Lankinen will start against Sweden on Saturday after Juuse Saros allowed six goals on 32 shots in Finland's 6-1 loss to the United States in each team's first game of the tournament.

Juuse Saros makes 26 saves, but allows six goals as Finland loses 6-1 to USA in the second game of the 4 Nations Face-Off on Thursday.

He may well find himself on the bench Saturday when Finland returns to action against arch-rival Sweden in a must-win game. Saros could be replaced by Vancouver goalie Kevin Lankinen, who served as Saros’ back-up the previous two seasons in Nashville.
