Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker signed the $55.2 billion budget for the state that was passed by lawmakers at the end of their spring session.

Gov. JB Pritzker signed his seventh annual budget, balanced as promised with spending cuts, taxes and one-time revenue boosts,.

"You know it's a bad budget when it's based on nearly $1 billion in tax increases and enhancements," a Republican lawmaker said.
