The Bears' first-round selection of Colston Loveland shocked Bears fans on draft night, but head coach Ben Johnson sees a bright future for the young tight end.

The Chicago Bears didn't get Ashton Jeanty, but they still got a huge offensive weapon for Caleb Williams and new coach Ben Johnson. With the No. 10 overall pick on Thursday night, the Bears took Colston Loveland, the tight end from Michigan.

While the selection came as a surprise to many, as Penn State's Tyler Warren was widely considered to be the top tight end, the Bears deemed Loveland the perfect fit for Ben Johnson's offense. For general manager Ryan Poles, it came down to Loveland's versatility, skillset and intangibles.
