TORONTO — Aaron Nola has hit a speed bump in his recovery from his right ankle sprain. The right-hander felt some stiffness in his right side on Tuesday, prompting the Phillies to shut him down from throwing for a few days.

Injured Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola will not throw a scheduled live batting session Thursday because of mild soreness on his right side, manager Rob Thomson said Wednesday.

Out with a sprained right ankle, Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola was scheduled to throw a live batting session on Thursday, but manager Rob Thomson said on Wednesday that mild soreness in Nola's right side put the session on hold.
