A Spirit Airlines flight at Detroit Metro was evacuated Thursday after a Michigan man allegedly called in a bomb threat that prompted K-9 searches and passenger rescreening.

A bomb threat forced passengers to evacuate a Spirit Airlines plane headed to Los Angeles from Detroit Metro Airport on Thursday, June 5. The incident was first reported about 7 a.m., said Matt Morawski, Wayne County Airport Authority communications director, in an email.
