Millions of people turned out for "No Kings" protests nationwide on Saturday that were largely peaceful though there were some arrests and police had to disperse unruly crowds, including in Georgia and Los Angeles.

Protests are planned for 1,800 communities nationwide on June 14, including more than 200 in California, the same day President Donald Trump holds a military parade in Washington, D.C.

Organizers say that one march will go to the gates of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, where Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis warned demonstrators that the “line is very clear” and not to cross it.

Authorities have confirmed that Minnesota State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were shot and killed inside their Brooklyn Park home.

“It’s a threat to democracy. But it’s real. We can’t let them silence us, but we have to be vigilant,” he said.
