The Detroit Lions' ground attack declined in 2025 and the downturn adversely affected the entire offense. Fixing it is the top priority heading into the offseason.

For Detroit, the Lions ' postseason fate was decided a week before its 9-8 record was finalized. Though Detroit ended its season with a 19-16 win in Chicago, the Lions were on the outside of the playoffs looking in. That's meant the earliest jumpstart on an offseason for Detroit since the Lions last missed the playoffs in 2022.

The NFL playoffs pick up again Saturday with two divisional-round games. The home crowds in Denver and Seattle will be out in full force.
