An inevitable facet of NFL Draft season is the names that pick up steam in the time after the college football playoff ends. Player buzz shifts drastically as the opinions of NFL talent evaluators begin to seep into the public sphere.

NFL Draft is fast approaching. The College Football Playoff Championship is here. The NFL playoffs are underway. The deadline to declare for the NFL Draft has now passed (as of end of day January 15th) for all players except those participating in the national championship.

At the time of writing, a waiver has not been approved by the NCAA, and Dart has not publicly withdrawn his consideration for the 2025 NFL Draft. He declared for the 2025 NFL Draft in the time between his team's regular season finale against Mississippi State and the Gator Bowl that followed.

As Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels close the book on their time with quarterback Jaxson Dart, Austin Simmons is entering the fray in Oxford. Dart had an incredible tenure with the Rebels, and Kiffin is hoping Simmons picked up on a thing or two from the star quarterback moving forward.

Reports from The Ole Miss Spirit and Inside the Rebels stated on Thursday that Dart is attempting to receive a waiver from the NCAA for an extra year of eligibility. The 2024 season marked Dart's fourth in college football, and without a redshirt year, that would mean his eligibility would be exhausted.
