Multiple towns and cities in Rhode Island went to the polls Tuesday to fill the three open council seats. According to unofficial election results, Democrat Jill Davidson won the majority of votes to fill the Providence City Council Ward 2 seat.

The lawsuit comes after Secretary of State Gregg Amore refused to give the administration access to driver's license numbers and Social Security numbers.

Davidson, who works for the nonprofit Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council, received 95% of the vote against Republican Alex Brito.
