Texas Gov. Greg Abbott vetoed a bill that would have banned consumable hemp products containing THC ingredients in the state, but said he's open to lawmakers passing a new effort to regulate what has become a booming business.

"The governor of the State of Texas wants to legalize recreational marijuana in Texas," said Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, a staunch supporter of SB3.

Texas Governor Abbott signed 1,155 bills into law and vetoed 28, and announced a Special Session for further legislative matters.
