California drivers are bracing for a double-whammy at the pumps as stricter clean air regulations and an increase in the state’s gas excise tax are set to take effect on July 1, which could send fuel prices soaring.

According to the EIA, gas prices across the region in the last year have been as low as $2.81 on Dec. 9, 2024, and as high as $3.48 on July 29, 2024.

TEXAS (KAUZ) - According to AAA Texas, the statewide gas price average in Texas is $2.75 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel. AAA Texas said that the price is one cent less when compared to this day last week and is 27 cents less per gallon compared to this day last year.
