President Donald Trump signed a memorandum Thursday targeting ActBlue, the Democratic Party’s main fundraising platform – taking aim at one of the key pillars of the financial infrastructure for Democratic candidates.

Taking a page from authoritarians around the world, Trump is targeting his political opposition with criminal investigations.

Meanwhile, Trump ally Elon Musk has repeatedly blasted ActBlue on his social media platform, X. On March 8, for example, he appeared to suggest that "ActBlue-funded groups" were behind the recent wave of nationwide protests against his electric vehicle company, Tesla.
