A two-story unit in a strip of vacant commercial buildings in downtown Los Angeles was engulfed in flames Tuesday and firefighters worked over one hour to protect the buildings around it.
The Los Angeles Police Department said the building was the old Morrison Hotel, which has been vacant for nearly 15 years. The building was purchased last year by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation.
