Google’s hands-free voice search on Android is getting a major UI overhaul, replacing the bodyless face with a microphone, “Ask Anything,” and a colored arc.

Google is appealing a federal court’s decision ruling it an illegal online search monopolist. The company filed a notice to appeal on Friday, requesting a pause on the court-ordered remedies meant to restore competition to the online search market.

Google now uses Gemini 3 Pro to generate some AI Overviews in Google Search. Google said for more complex queries Gemini 3 Pro is used for AI Overview. This was previously announced for AI Mode results back in November and then in December Google began using Gemini 3 Flash for AI Mode.

The tech giant is seeking a pause on court-ordered fixes aimed at limiting its monopoly power.
