Snowplow and truck drivers weigh in on south central Minnesota road conditions during blizzard warning
The Minnesota Department of Transportation says it currently has around 83 snow plows across south central Minnesota cleaning up roads amidst an ongoing blizzard warning.
City officials note that ticketing and towing will occur with this snow emergency. A temporary towing ban that Mayor Kaohly Her put in place on Jan. 19 will be suspended until Tuesday.

Following more than 6,750 snowplow-naming suggestions submitted to the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) in December, the options have been narrowed to 30 finalists, and the online ballot is open.
St. Paul has declared a snow emergency after the Twin Cities received its largest snowfall of the season Wednesday. The snow emergency goes into effect Thursday night.
Voting is open as of Thursday and goes through noon on Feb. 13, with votes deciding eight new snowplow names – one for each MnDOT district.
