Maryland State Police (MSP) are warning residents about an internet scheme involving Gmail accounts. According to MSP, from August through September, the Maryland State Police Financial Crimes Unit received reports of several internet-based schemes specific to Gmail accounts.

An active internet scam involving Gmail accounts in the state has caught the attention of Maryland State Police, which is warning residents to be more aware of emails.

Gmail users have been warned by U.S. law enforcement of an ongoing attack targeting them with claims of a search history spyware hack.

Imagine getting an email that contains your name, a picture of the front of your house and the words, “I’m watching your dirty behavior.” Maryland State Police are warning people about a blackmail scam.
