After outlasting the Chicago Cubs in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, the Milwaukee Brewers take on the Dodgers beginning tonight for the National League pennant.

The Mariners will leave Toronto with a two-game lead and are now two wins away from ousting the Blue Jays and booking their first-ever trip to the World Series. The Dodgers also stole a game on the road and now lead the Brewers 1-0 with another game in Milwaukee on the schedule for Tuesday.

MLB altered its playoff structure in 1969 and established the League Championship Series. The LCS is a showdown between the winners of the division series to determine which team will represent its respective league -- American League and National League -- in the World Series.
