The Iowa Yellow Jackets and the North DeSoto Griffins continue their playoff history at noon today in the Non-Select Division II high school football championship.

After making it to and losing the Louisiana High School Athletic Associations football semifinals twice in three years, Iowa High School has made it over the hump to the state championship game for the first time ever and the team says they’re prepared for the next challenge.

IOWA CITY — Class of 2027 in-state talent Braylon Bingham has committed to Iowa football, he announced Dec. 14. Bingham, who attends Pleasantville High School, is listed at 6-foot-2 and around 200 pounds. At the time of his commitment to the Hawkeyes, Bingham is unranked and unrated by the 247Sports Composite.

The Yellow Jackets capped off an undefeated season with its first state championship in program history with a 50-43 win against top-seeded North DeSoto in the Division II non-select title game at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Friday.
