With students out for the Summer, Florence police officers say they are trying to crack down on teen crime.

Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser sent a letter to the D.C. Council criticizing progressive mayoral candidate Janeese Lewis George and other council members who refused to back a plan to extend the city’s teen curfew this summer.

The proposal put forth by the Detroit City Council includes a curfew for all minors that would go into effect at 8 p.m. June 22 and continue until 6 a.m. June 23 for the area bounded by the Detroit River, Third Street, the Lodge Freeway, I-75, the extension of I-75 easterly to Gratiot, Vernor, Chene, Atwater, and the Aretha Franklin Ampitheater.
