Families and legislators have been putting pressure on Instagram and other social media platforms to make the internet safer for teens, and their efforts have finally come to (at least some) fruition.

Instagram is starting Teen Accounts for users under 18 with certain settings turned on by default. Teen Accounts will have more strict settings for direct messages, privacy, and suggested content.
