BYU is still undefeated. Somehow. The No. 9 Cougars took advantage of a fourth-down holding penalty to stun Utah 22-21 late Saturday night. The Utes had led for the entirety of the second half and seemed to have the game wrapped up when QB Jake Retzlaff threw three incompletions and was sacked just in front of his goal line with 90 seconds to go.

As BYU quarterback Jake Retzlaff lay on his back on the wrong goal line, a record crowd at Rice-Eccles Stadium erupted, sure that the Utes had applied the final hit in an upset rivalry victory. Or so they thought.

Jake Retzlaff engineered two fourth quarter scoring drives and Will Ferrin kicked a 44-yard field with four seconds remaining to keep No. 9 BYU’s unbeaten season alive with a 22-21 win over Utah.
