The National Hurricane Center is tracking the first region of potential cyclone development since the hurricane season kicked off on Sunday. A nontropical area of low atmospheric pressure is expected to develop along the boundary of a stalled front that will be draped between the Carolinas and north Florida this week.

Atlantic Hurricane Season began Sunday. Most of the Atlantic basin is quiet for now with thick Saharan dust moving across the Atlantic Ocean. That helps to limit tropical activity with drier air in place.
