The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a disturbance expected to stall over or near Florida, which could affect your Fourth of July weekend.

During the early months of hurricane season, storms historically develop close to the U.S. and Florida. Later in the season, more storms develop out of tropical waves moving off the coast of Africa, giving residents in the path more time to prepare.

The chances of a cyclone forming near Florida have again increased, forecasters at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) say. If tropical storm formation occurs, it will become the third named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season,
