With the threat of an NJ Transit strike looming large​, both sides have been called to Washington, D.C. to meet with a mediator.

The National Mediation Board has called representatives for NJ Transit and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers to a meeting Monday in Washington, D.C., as New Jersey sits on the brink of its first major rail strike in four decades.

The National Mediation Board called both NJ Transit and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers union to Washington, D.C. on Monday ahead of a potential rail strike. Both sides were notified in a May 7 letter.
