A representative of the family of missing sailor Angelina Resendiz said they are waiting on DNA testing to determine if the remains found are hers.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is seeking information related to the disappearance of U.S Navy Seaman Angelina Petra Resendiz. The agency says Angelina has not been seen or been in contact with her friends or family since May 29.

NCIS says charges are pending against a sailor in connection to the death of Angelina Resendiz, a missing sailor whose death was confirmed Tuesday following a positive identification of her remains.

The dead body that was found in the Broad Creek neighborhood is confirmed to be Naval Seaman Angelina Resendiz, according to a statement released from the family.

NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk police and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service are investigating after a deceased body was located the area of Broad Creek in Norfolk. 13News Now was on scene this evening and saw that a large area had been taped off with crime scene tape.
