The Israeli military is again advancing into Gaza and has blocked most aid, causing widespread hunger. A new but widely criticized system for getting in relief started operating last week.
The Hamas-run health ministry says more than a hundred people were injured in the attack. The aid distributor said the reports were "false".
Gaza City is facing an unprecedented water crisis as supplies fell below 25% of the minimum requirement, local authorities warned on Sunday. In a statement, Gaza Municipality said that 75% of the city's water wells have been destroyed by the Israeli army since October 2023.
The Israeli military hit a residential area in Gaza City on Sunday (June 1) causing a huge cloud of dust and smoke whilst dozens of Palestinians rushed to help the injured. It was not immediately clear how many people were killed and injured in the attack.
The first few aid trucks have entered Gaza following nearly three months of Israel’s complete blockade of food, medicine and other supplies.
Israel on Friday said Hamas must accept a hostage deal in Gaza or "be annihilated", as US President Donald Trump announced that a ceasefire agreement was "very close".
