BMW said on Saturday it is rethinking its timetable for manufacturing all-electric Mini cars in Britain, citing uncertainties facing the industry.

The BMW X2 has been one of the brand's more interesting entry-level models of late, offering unique style at a relatively affordable price. And now BMW has moved to introduce an electric version for those who like what the X2 offers,

BMW has delayed a £600 million electric car investment due to "uncertainties" in the automotive industry. The manufacturer said it will review the reintroduction of electric vehicles at its Mini plant in Cowley, Oxford, and will not accept a related £60m grant from government, but confirmed they remained in "close dialogue".

BMW has confirmed it is delaying a massive £600million investment to reintroduce electric vehicle production at its Oxford Mini plant, citing "multiple uncertainties facing the automotive industry". The car manufacturer has put plans on ice that would have seen production of two new electric Mini models begin at the Cowley plant in 2026.
