Veteran running back Austin Ekeler says Commanders teammate Jayden Daniels "exceeded expectations" in his rookie season but he expects the quarterback to show even more in Year 2.

Daniels led the Commanders in his rookie season, passing for 3,568 yards and 25 touchdowns with only nine interceptions. Completing 69 percent of his passes, Daniels averaged 7.4 yards per passing attempt. He finished his first NFL season with a passer rating of 100.1 and a QBR of 70.6.

The Washington Commanders took the league by storm last season. Jayden Daniels looked every bit like a budding star, and the team tripled its win total from one year to the next. That’s not going to be the case anymore.
