The New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers have revealed the injury status for Karl-Anthony Towns and Aaron Nesmith for Game 5.
The injury occurred with time winding down in the fourth quarter Tuesday, when Towns banged knees with Indiana Pacers forward Aaron Nesmith. Towns immediately grabbed his knee, and remained down on the court in obvious pain. Despite the injury, Towns was able to re-enter and finish the game, but he was hobbled the rest of the way.
Both the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers have key players listed on the injury report ahead of a crucial Game 5.
Aaron Nesmith’s revenge story will make any fan smile. Nesmith was never a star in the league, but he’s quickly become a star for his team. After a solid college career that ended with injury, Nesmith was drafted 14th overall in the 2020 NBA Draft.
I can’t miss these moments.' Aaron Nesmith never questioned he'd be ready for Game 4 vs. Knicks. And he delivered.
"Every team in the NBA wants a guy like Aaron Nesmith," Pacers teammate Tyrese Haliburton said of the Game 1 hero.
Nesmith’s evolution into a core piece of the Pacers’ second straight playoff run to the conference finals is proof that Boston had no choice but to part ways with him. The Celtics had too many wings, and there’s no way he was going to be a bench player and progress to where he did with Brown ahead of him.
