Hi Jeremy If you go to our website w w w . greatjourneysnz . com You will find the timetable information in the drop down menu for the Coastal Pacific.
Hi, I noted that I can book ONE ticket from Wellington-Christchurch on Coastal Pacific with the following schedule: - Wellington-Picton via Interislander ferry: 0845am-1215pm - Picton-Christchurch via Coastal Pacific: 0215pm-0830pm Is there delays on Interislander ferry that will result in me missing the Coastal Pacific train ride to Christchurch? I have written to Great Journey of NZ and below response from the lady: "This is a common connection and can be done as one ticket under Coastal Pacific. However we do recommend travel insurance for any unforeseen circumstance." ***Sorry, I got back recently from Mexico and Belize and I experienced a bus misconnection that got me stranded in Tulum bus terminal for 7 hours. So I would like to check if anyone has ever experienced misconnection in this route.

The ferries tend to be on time most days, you have a 2hr difference in picton and the station is only 5min away. The only reason for a delay will be weather or mechanical failure. a lot of passengers off the ferry will be on train(backpackers).. Insurance is never a bad option with travels.
