Is it easy to rent bikes & kayaks when you get there or can you reserve in advance?

The camp store has limited hours like 9 or 10 to 4 but is easy once you are on the island. As far as I know It is first come first serve with no method to book in advance.
I understand the 1:00 Tram is NOT running.( shirt staff). The Tropic Star will be dropping us off a little before 1:00 have an Orthodox. How far of a walk is it? I've heard that it's .7 miles and then I've heard it's 1 1/2 miles since we only have two hours on the island I want to plan accordingly. Thank you

Just back Walk is .7 miles and tram is timed to match ferry’s.
